Information for Competitors

*Entries must be submitted IN THE EXPO CENTER on Weds., Aug. 13. Once judging is complete, exhibits will be transferred by Fair Volunteers to the Hale Moss Exhibit Building where they will be displayed for the duration of the Fair.*

Rules
  1. Competition is open to any TN resident over 18 years.
  2. Please pre-register online before Aug. 11 to speed up the entry process.
  3. Exhibits must be entered at the Expo Center between 11-4:30 PM on Weds., Aug. 13. NO ENTRIES AFTER 4:30 PM. THOSE IN LINE WILL BE SERVED. Please contact the chairman if you need to make special arrangements for registration.
  4. Bring your entries and GO DIRECTLY to the ROSE SHOW DISPLAY area in the EXPO CENTER. PLEASE BE SEATED AT 1 OF THE VASING TABLES. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ROSES IN VASES & READY TO BE ENTERED BEFORE YOU MOVE TO THE REGISTRATION TABLE. NO EXCEPTIONS. Tables, chairs, vases filled with fresh water and preservative will be available until supplies are exhausted. Guidance for entry preparation will be available, but workers cannot prepare your entries for judging. You must specify division and lot for your entries.
  5. ONCE ENTRIES ARE PREPARED, PLEASE BE SEATED AT REGISTRATION TABLE & WAIT YOUR TURN. If you pre-registered your entry tags will already be printed for you. Please do not leave entries unattended. If you have a large number of entries or need assistance, please call the chairman and make special arrangements.
  6. Each exhibit consists of 1 bloom to a stem, less side blooms, unless schedule states a spray which is 2 or more flowers on the same stem.
  7. All exhibitors are at owner’s risk, but reasonable precautions will be taken to protect items. Please do not enter high value or irreplaceable items.
  8. Premiums will be awarded on the decision of the judges. The Chairman may subdivide any division or lot. No person may enter more than 1 item per lot.
  9. All entries must be free from insects & disease. Diseased entries will be discarded.
  10. Premiums will be paid on Sun., Aug. 24. All entries will be discarded unless special arrangements have been made with the Chairman. All containers property of the exhibitor/grower MUST be picked up by 2 PM on Sun., Aug. 24.
  11. During the Fair, entries that appear wilted may be replace depending on availability. Please bring extras if you have them.

Division 2 - Fresh Arrangement

21. Fresh Rose Sweetheart Bouquet, Corsage or Boutonniere: an item that is meant to be carried by hand or worn on lapel or wrist. Please do NOT include pins or needles to attach to garment.
22. Fresh Rose Arrangement: an arrangement of any style, color, size up to 24” in any direction. Ex: floating arrangement, centerpiece. Exhibitor supplies container.
23. Fair Theme & Commodity Arrangement: an arrangement of any style, size, up to 24” in any direction which incorporates this year’s Fair Theme and Commodity. *NEW*

Division 3 - For the Love of Roses *NEW*

(Non-Perishables ONLY)

Item that may be displayed to demonstrate one’s love of roses. The item may be any style, color, size, must be less than 5lbs. Ex: article of clothing, artwork, photography, or crafts that must feature a rose/s and be prepared for display. NON-PERISHABLE ITEMS ONLY. Fresh floral arrangements will not be accepted in this lot. If you have questions or need special accomodations, please call Chairman.
