General Rules for all Beef Cattle

  1. NO DOGS ALLOWED IN BARNS OR SHOW RING AREAS
  2. There will only be room in the barn for cattle on the day they are to show. For any exceptions, please contact Show Chairman.
  3. Any breed that has 20 head or more pre-registered in the show will have a division for that breed.
  4. Any breed not listed will show on Friday night.
  5. Tennessee Health Requirements apply to all cattle.
  6. Unruly animals may be excused from the show ring by the Judge or Show Chairman.
  7. Show cattle should be on grounds three hours before show time.
  8. Trucks & trailers shall park in designated areas after unloading. NO PARKING AROUND BARN.
  9. All cattle must be registered with their respective breed association.
  10. Livestock trailers should enter through the Tennessee Blvd. entrance.
  11. Showmanship classes - Heifers & Steers Only. You can only show in one showmanship.
  12. TN Junior Shows and Junior Open Shows will run with the Open Show of each breed with the exception of Herefords.
  13. You can only show in one show - You may NOT show the same animal in more than one show. An animal may be shown in its breed, show as an AOB or commercial but not all three. ONLY ONE SHOW.
  14. Animals must remain in barn or designated tie areas NOT on trailers unless Chairman grants permission.

American Brahman Breeders Association Special Rule

American Brahman Breeders Association Official Show Class Special Conditions
  1. All animals exhibited must be registered with the American Brahman Breeders Association ("ABBA") and be appropriately fire branded as provided by ABBA requirements for registration in the ABBA Official Brahman Herdbook.
  2. All Animals exhibited are subject to the ABBA Color Classification Rules as established from time to time. A copy of the most current ABBA Color Classification Rules may be obtained from the ABBA.
  3. All animals exhibited are subject to the ABBA DNA Verification Rules as established from time to time. A copy of the most current ABBA DNA Verification Rules may be obtained from the ABBA.
  4. All Females exhibited in the Senior Division must either (1) be accompanied by a certificate of pregnancy issued by a licensed veterinarian (within 90 days prior to the date of the how) certifying the Animal is pregnant and such certificate shall be made available for inspection and verification upon request, (2) be in a lactating stage and have her natural, nursing calf at side, which Calf has not exceeded 240 days old as of the date of the Show, or (3) have weaned her natural calf which Calf is registered in the ABBA Official Brahman Herdbook and the Calf's registration certificate is available for inspection and verification upon request.
  5. All Females exhibited in the Aged Senior Division* must either (1) be in a lactating stage and have her natural, nursing calf at side which Calf has not exceeded 240 days old as of the date of the Show, or (2) have weaned her natural calf which Calf is registered in the ABBA Official Brahman Herdbook and the Calf's registration certificate is available for inspection and verification upon request. *FOR THE FALL 2024 SHOW SEASON ONLY, FEMALES EXHIBITED INC LASS 34 LATE AGED SENIOR COWS SHALL BE ALLOWED TO BE EXHIBITED WITHOUT A NATURAL, NURSING CALF AT SIDE PROVIDED THE FEMALE MEETS THE PREGNANCY STATUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE SENIOR DIVISION OF FEMALES.
  6. All Bulls must be exhibited with a permanent or temporary nose ring with an appropriate lead attached.
  7. All Bulls exhibited in the Senior and Aged Senior Divisions must be accompanied by a valid, satisfactory Breeding Soundness Exam (BSE) certification issued by a licensed veterinarian (within one year prior to the date of the Show) and such certification shall be made available for inspection and verification upon request.
  8. All Animals in the Calf and Junior Yearling Divisions which have been previously disqualified from being exhibited at an ABBA Approved Show based on not meeting Weights and Measures Parameters may not be exhibited at another ABBA Approved Show until such time as (1) the Animal re-qualifies by meeting Weights and Measures Parameters at a subsequent ABBA Approved Show where weights and measures are taken, or (2) the Animal is no longer being exhibited in the Calf or Junior Yearling Divisions at ABBA Approved Shows.
  9. All Group Classes will be exhibited at the beginning of the ABBA Approved Show prior to any individual classes being exhibited in such Show. All individual Animals exhibited in Group Classes must be presented by an individual Showman for each participating Animal for the Group to be placed by the Judge(s).
  10. All Animals exhibited in the Get of Sire, Natural Produce of Dam and Embryo Produce of Dam Group Classes at an ABBA Approved Show must be exhibited under the registered color of the represented Sire or Dam; NOT the color of the progeny comprising the Group. The Breeders Genetic Group and Breeder's Herd shall be exhibited under the registered color of the individual Animals (which all must be registered as the same color) comprising the Group.
  11. All Classes which exceed more than fifteen (15) Animals MAY be broken into smaller Classes each no larger than 15 Animals, at the sole discretion of Show Management, by dividing the Classes as evenly as possible without splitting Animals with the same birth date. Additional Classes resulting from splitting Classes shall be treated as new individual Classes (and not as heats of a single Class) for purposes of class placings, competition within Divisions, and ABBA Register of Renown Points awarded.

ABBA SHOW RING CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS
The American Brahman Breeders Association recognizes the importance of the showing and exhibition of American Brahman cattle and that the competitive evaluation in the show ring is but one method to evaluate animals in our breed. The competitive show ring includes exhibitors who present animals to be placed and approved ABBA judges.
This ABBA Show Ring Code of Conduct and Ethics seeks to insure that all participants, exhibitors, and approved judges act in accordance with these guidelines to help insure impartiality, honesty, and fairness to all concerned and in keeping with high standards expected of all ABBA endeavors.
ALL GROUP CLASSES SHALL BE EXHIBITED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ABBA APPROVED SHOW PRIOR TO ANY INDIVIDUAL CLASSES BEING EXHIBITED.

G1. PRODUCE OF DAM-Two (2) natural born Animals both produced by the same Dam, either or both sexes may be represented. Each Animal in the Group must also be exhibited in the appropriate individual Class for such Animal. No ownership requirement for the participating individual Animals in the Group. No single Exhibitor shall be permitted to show more than one entry per Dam. All entries in this Class must be placed by the Judge(s). There will be named a Champion of this Group Class.

G2. EMBRYO PRODUCE OF DAM-Two (2) Animals both produced by the same Dam via embryo transfer, either or both sexes may be represented. Each Animal in the Group must also be exhibited in the appropriate individual Class for such Animal. No ownership requirement for the participating individual Animals in the Group. No single Exhibitor shall be permitted to show more than one entry per Dam. All entries in this Class must be placed by the Judge(s). There will be named a Champion and Reserve Champion of this Group Class.

G3. GET OF SIRE-Four (4) Animals all by the same Sire from at least two different Dams, both sexes must be represented. Each Animal in the Group must also be exhibited in the appropriate individual Class for such Animal. No ownership requirement for the participating individual Animals in the Group. No single Exhibitor shall be permitted to show more than one entry per Sire. All entries in this Class must be placed by the Judge(s). There will be named a Champion and Reserve Champion of this Group Class.

G4. BREEDER'S GENETIC GROUP-Three (3) genetically similar Animals all by the same Sire and same Dam, either or both sexes may be represented. All individual Animals comprising this Group shall be registered with the ABBA as the same color and shall be exhibited based on the color of the individual Animals comprising the Group as registered with the ABBA> Each Animal in the Group must also be exhibited in the appropriate individual Class for such Animal. No single Exhibitor shall be permitted to show more than one entry per Sire and Dam mating combination. All entries in the Class must be placed by the Judge(s). There will be named a Champion and Reserve Champion of this Group Class.
